Recently, I have been using worldcam and I must say it's great! The prices are super cheap and the features are really great. The reason I say that is because I have been using it for sometime now and I must say that is like using a $100 phone from Phillips, which is not bad but still I would much prefer having a phone from Nokia or Samsung. The video quality is awesome, the picture settings are really great and everything is super fast.
What is a worldcam anyway? It's a small cam that can be placed behind your mirror, usually it has a housing and a dual battery control unit, so what's so special about this tiny little gadget? It's pretty self explanatory, it's a mirror dash cam hidden inside the mirror and usually it has a built in GPS unit and a remote control camera as well, the most exciting thing is the small touch screen behind the mirrored car, with this technique you can totally hide the cam from thieves, avoid ugly sucker hooks on your windshield and also avoid ugly mirror lockups on the windshield wipers. You also have the ability to see the road while the view is from your normal car, if you have a cell phone you can send a message to the world to zoom in, this way you will get a real good image of what is going on.
So how do I get the world to work with my Honda? Actually it's not too difficult and it does take a little time to set everything up. First you need to disconnect the power from the original mirror. Next you have to attach the 2 SD memory cards to the dashboard with the SD reader cable and the USB cable to your computer via the USB port on the dash.
Then you need to connect the sensors to the Worldcam mirror dash cam with the SD reader and the USB cable to your computer. The sensors are the ultrasonic ones which will pick up any sound within 20 feet of them and then send an email or text message to the computer, the next sensor is the infrared one which will pick up any light within thirty feet of it and send the information over to the computer. Last but not least you have the ultrasonic one which is used for sound recording. Once you have done all that, you need to turn off your car, unplug it and plug the SD into the 2 SD memory cards and put the cameras in the front grille and on the dashboard in the front passenger area facing forward.
Now, all you need to do is go to the world wide web and download the software, you will need a computer with an internet connection for the installation. You then go to world wide web and install the software onto the computer and follow the instructions given. In a matter of minutes you will be able to see your camera on your dash, and you also get live updates on your vehicle through the dash cam receiver. The receiver will send you messages if anything happens to your vehicle.
If you are thinking that this system does not allow you to get your own vehicle, then think again. As soon as you have downloaded the software, you can create as many cameras as you want and they will all work for that particular day. You can also save images from other vehicles to your hard drive and store them for future use. The other thing that this system has to offer is unbelievable convenience, this will help you take quality pictures of your family and friends and if you are a racer, then you will be able to track your laps, wins and even the tracks your car is going on. This is something that has to be seen to be appreciated.
